credit repair careers

I need help with credit. Jobs are now looking at credit scores.?

I have been looking at a couple of new jobs in my career field, but I have recently been denied a job due to my credit score. I have made mistakes in the past, a long time ago. I have slowly been paying on the debts, while trying to stay on my feet and above water. I was told sometime ago or I read it I do not remember which that you could possibly recieve a new S.S.N. if you could prove undue hardship. Is this true? If not what are some other options that are available. There is so much junk on the net that promises fixes, but I have found that most of those are scams. I am looking for an honest and legitimate answer that can help me repair the current situation that I am in. Any help that I recieve will be greatly appreciated.
Thank You,

If your problems are truly in your past and you have shown at least two years of credit rehabilitation then you should be up front with any prospective employers. If you sign a consent form so that they can pull your credit, go ahead and make them aware of what they will find and what you are doing to fix it. Most employers will look past a low score if you are really trying to turn over a new leaf. The very first thing you should do however is make sure that you know what they’re seeing by going to www.annualcreditreport.com and getting a copy of your credit report from all three agencies. You cannot get a new social security number and there are no quick fixes. Honesty is always the best policy.
